Vittorio Valli is emertitus professor of Economic policy at the University of Turin, Department of Economics and Statistics " Cognetti De Martiis". Graduated in Economics and Commerce at Bocconi University and Master in Economics at Berkeley, it has taught at the University Bocconi in Milan, at the University of Padua and at the University of Turin. He has been visting professor at the University of Kyoto, at Seoul National University and at the University of Nice and visiting scholar at Berkeley, Brown and Roskilde. He has been the director of the Department of Economics "Cognetti De Martiis" and of Coripe Piemonte and member of the Board of Administration of the University of Turin, of CERIS and of Collegio Carlo Alberto. He has been the first president of AISSEC and EACES, the Italian and European Associations for the Study of Comparative Economics. He is the co-editor of EJCE (the European Journal of Comparative Economics), member of the scientific council of Fondazione Luigi Einaudi in Turin and Co-director of OEET (Turin Center on Emerging Economies). He has published over 100 articles and several books mainly on issues of economic policy, growth and development theory, comparative economic development, labour economics.
